The Level 2 (Intermediate Level Apprenticeship) will suit you if you are a care worker or want to...

The Level 2 (Intermediate Level Apprenticeship) will suit you if you are a care worker or want to get your first care job. If you’re already working in care, you probably work mainly under supervision. You want to increase your skills and take on more responsibility.

The Level 3 (Advanced Level Apprenticeship) is ideal if you’re a care worker, and you have some responsibility in your workplace, you sometimes work without supervision or you want to develop or demonstrate your skills, perhaps to become a senior care worker.

Work placements are available in the fields of elderly, physical disabilities and learning disabilities  care.  In these  fields learners may be required to work shifts or weekends.  Learners  may be required to wear uniform at work. The duration of this course is between one and two years.  The course leads to nationally recognised qualifications.

Attendance:

Full time work placement minimum of 30 hours per week, plus college attendance as required (for online tests and other training).

Additional Information:

A CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check will be required prior to commencement of work.

Delivery of the Apprenticeship:

The apprenticeship is delivered primarily in the workplace. Learners who are struggling, or would like additional support, have the opportunity to attend training days at college to sustain their progress. Technical Certificate and Functional Skills exams are sat online at the college. All college attendance is planned around the needs of learner and workplace with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

Assessor visits are planned in advance and learners are seen on an individual basis at agreed times.

Evidence is collected by observation, professional discussion, and completion of set assignments. Learners have the choice of completing paper based portfolios or online portfolios.
